Simon Cowell has faced several health challenges following two separate bicycle accidents over a span of two years.
The 63-year-old celebrity faced a similar incident while cycling in London in early 2022, following a fall from his e-bike in Malibu in 2020.
In a promotional piece for the upcoming 18th season of America's Got Talent, Simon was asked how these accidents had changed his outlook on life.
Reflecting on his physical condition before the incidents, he admitted, "I wasn’t in the best shape before the mishaps, so they were far from terrific, rather quite terrible. I didn’t understand how unfit I truly was until the healing process."
He then described the experience as "a revelation, a true god moment!" Simon recognized his unwavering passion for cycling and remarked that he believed everything happened for a reason.
He declared, "I’m not giving up on my bike," much to the delight of his fellow actors. "I can’t get enough of these amazing inventions."
Following the second accident, Simon was taken to the hospital, where he was found to have a broken arm and a concussion.

These incidents prompted Simon to change his lifestyle, particularly for the sake of his nine-year-old son, Eric. His fiancée, Lauren Silverman, also provided motivation.
In an interview with The Sun last April, he talked about coping with the aftermath of his e-bike accident.
"I was in such a terrible place when I fractured my back that I considered going to therapy for the first time in my life," he remarked.
Eric was born to Simon and Lauren on February 14, 2014. After his bike accidents, the TV celebrity claimed that his child had come up with a humorous new nickname for him.
In an interview with Entertainment Tonight, the Britain’s Got Talent judge acknowledged feeling “embarrassed” after watching the episodes at home.
After surgery, Simon’s back is held together by metal rods and screws, but he took comfort in the fact that his son compared him to the well-known superhero Iron Man.
Simon recalled with pride, “When I reunited with my family, Eric said, ‘Dad, you look like Iron Man.’ ‘Yeah, I’m like Iron Man, indeed,’ I grinned.”
Since then, Simon has had little trouble laughing off his difficulties and has even downplayed the more serious initial injuries he received while working on the AGT stage in June 2021.
During a demonstration of a kid-friendly Shaolin Kung Fu act, Terry, ever the curious one, asked Simon if he could see himself performing such risky acrobatics.
Simon joked to the pair, "After hurting my back, I reached the point where walking around the garden with Eric felt like a fantastic accomplishment. Still, I couldn’t help but think, 'Maybe not such a great idea!'"
Simon's journey of resilience and reflection showcases his unwavering determination.
Despite the challenges from his bicycle accidents, he maintains his enthusiasm for cycling and life, while still finding humor in his misadventures.
